Félix Rocha Sauvignon Blanc & Arinto is a Lisbon Regional Wine made from Sauvignon Blanc and Arinto grapes. The vineyards are planted on clay-limestone soils from the Jurassic period and benefit from the age of the plants, more than a decade old, exposure to the northwest sun and dedicated viticultural work, resulting in high quality grapes. The average yield is 60hl per hectare.
The manual harvest takes place at the end of August, at the peak of phenolic and oenological ripeness. The grapes are harvested in 20kg boxes and quickly transported to the winery to preserve quality. The process includes total destemming, gentle pressing of the whole berries and cold static decanting. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature, guaranteeing the expression of the grape variety's characteristics.
This wine has a citrus yellow color. The aroma has notes of passion fruit and green asparagus, typical of Sauvignon Blanc, balanced by the minerality of Arinto.
On the palate, it is fresh and well-structured, with a balance between vibrant acidity and volume. The finish is persistent.
It has an alcohol content of 13%, a total acidity of 8.10g per liter, a pH of 3.08 and reducing sugars of less than 1.5g per liter.
For conservation purposes, it is recommended to store in a horizontal position, away from direct light, in a cool and humid place. The expected shelf life is five years.
It should be consumed in appropriate glasses at a temperature of 10 to 12 degrees Celsius. It is excellent as an aperitif and pairs well with salads, grilled fish, sushi, seafood and white meats.
The winemaker in charge is Luís Maia.
